Camp starts three weeks from now and we're buying all the Wonka candy we can find and finalizing our lessons for camp. This will be our fifth trip over to the Czech Republic to help lead a Teen English Camp and our theme this year is pictured above; we will be studying men and women of faith in Czech history. To prepare for the camp (and kill two birds with one stone for the Czech-themed exhibition I have at a local arts centre) I researched all the people we will be studying and drew them. Here're some of the pieces in the gallery that I made for camp.

Each year, the trip is different but this fact remains the same: we need your prayers. Since our first trip, I have counted on the support and prayers of countless people and each year I ask for them again. Would you please pray on our behalf? We leave August 5 and return on August 18. Here's a prayer calendar for our trip.
August 5 | Traveling to Prague | Pray for safe travels, no lost luggage, and an opportunity to get some rest on the way. Pray for continued unity in our team throughout our trip together.
August 6 | Arriving in Prague | Pray for our health and energy as we arrive mid-morning and need to stay awake despite jet lag. Pray for a full night of sleep to restart our bodies.
August 7 | Planning for Camp | Pray for unity and understanding between the American team and Czech leaders as we prepare to lead together.
August 8 | Traveling to Camp | Pray for happy reunions and fruitful conversations on the way to camp. As we form our classrooms and make new friendships, pray for God to work in our interactions.
August 9 | First Day of Camp | Pray for wisdom and discernment. As we attempt to connect with every camper, pray that God would spark points of interest and break ground on new relationships. Pray that we would listen more and say less.
August 10 | Second Day of Camp | Pray that we trust in God and not fear. Sharing our personal struggles and testimonies can be intimidating and frightening. Pray that we would be reminded of our goal: to bring God glory.
August 11 | Third Day of Camp | Pray for refreshment. That each leader would find new life and meaning in God's word, and new life in our bones as we tire from the week's activities.
August 12 | Fourth Day of Camp | Pray for healing throughout our camp. Pray away sicknesses and headaches, stomachaches and any illness. Pray for the hurting hearts at our campsite who would like to share the burden with someone. Pray for vulnerability and compassion in our hearts, and in the hearts of the campers.
August 13 | Fifth Day of Camp | Pray for our interpreters who tirelessly link us to our students, pray for them to have wisdom as they lead conversations on our behalf and relay to us what was said.
August 14 | Sixth Day of Camp | Pray against Satan. This is our last full day as a camp and some of us are apprehensive about returning to the city and our old habits and mindsets. Pray nothing could steal the joy of our week together.
August 15 | Departing Camp | Pray for safe travels back to Prague and for solid rest that night. Please pray that the hearts of our students would be drawn to church the next day.
August 16 | Church & Day in Prague | Pray that Sunday morning's message would be clear for all who hear it. Pray for great conversations, conversations that not only bring us closer together with our students but bring them closer to God.
August 17 | Sightseeing with Students | Pray that this last day with our friends, new and old, would be a sweet one. Pray that we as a team would continue to support and encourage one another.
August 18 | Traveling Back Home | Pray for safe travels, no lost luggage and an opportunity to rest and reflect on our time in the Czech Republic.
The support of the Church encourages me and makes my heart so glad. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your prayers and thoughtfulness. I am sure to have stories when we return that I'll happily share. Prague is so dear to my heart and I can't wait to be reunited with it.
