Painting a mural… where to start? I work on a pretty small scale - both digitally and traditionally - and my painting experience has been limited to a canvas. Nonetheless, it was an itch I needed to scratch. I saw two options: I could tell clients I was offering this service, make up a pricing structure, have a client sign a contract, and hope for the best… or I could practice and make sure this was a service I could confidently offer.

People travel from across the country to attend Geekway and I drive for about ten minutes. I’m luckier than the two people who won Wingspan from the Play and Win! That’s a joke. Last year, I had ten days of April in which I sent letters to ten random people who submitted their information on my write_on 2016 blog post. It was so wonderful - I loved picking through my collection of images and papers to find things that suited these wonderful strangers. That's why I want to do it again!
Read MoreAcross The Spine is my latest series of lettering pieces. There's only one criteria for each piece: the entire quote must use the spine of my sketchbook in the composition. It's a simple compositional change but it has proved so rewarding to me. The spine acts as part of the quote. It can either separate two statements or tones within a quote/lyrics or unite lettering to create unique spacing and flow.
